War is the third studio album by Irish rock band U2. This album has come to be regarded as U2's first overtly political album. War focused on both the physical aspects of warfare, as well as its emotional after-effects. This cover design employs a strong contrast of the scale to illustrate the unequal relationships between the countries involved in the war and the disadvantaged nations living in the shadow of their powerful counterparts.
